This 1968 Ford Thunderbird 429 is a great driver quality car. We brought it back to life from a non-running car for several years to it's current state.
It is being represented as a driver condition car that will pass a safety inspection in New Brunswick (as well as many other jurisdictions) however it is not and has not had a full restoration.
Many of the features do work as intended, although some will still need some attention such as the optional power trunk button & heater controls. We were able to get the power windows working and rear turn signals, but the sequential motors are a bit weak.
Cosmetically it has fresh paint and a faux vinyl roof, some faded and pitted chrome and a cracked (fixed and sealed) right rear tail lamp lens and the interior is in great condition with the exception of a few marks on the drivers door card.
The underside of the car has been heavily undercoated over the years and has kept the frame an floor pans in remarkable condition. Brakes and suspension were all good except rear shocks and they were replaced.
Tires have lots of tread, but are aged and showing some weather checking.
Engine runs smooth and has dual exhaust with 2 new mufflers. Transmission shifts through all the gears and was removed, resealed and installed back in the car.
As mentioned, this is a good driver quality car as it is, but also has the potential to be personalized and/or taken to the next level. You dont find 60 year old cars in this kind of shape very often.
